Students at UConn campuses across the state panicked Wednesday as HuskyCT crashed twice for a total of more than two hours, according to university officials.

University Information Technology Services (UITS) said HuskyCT, the name of UConn’s Blackboard Learn system, experienced outages at 4:17 p.m. and 7:04 p.m. The first outage lasted for more than an hour and 20 minutes while the second increased the total downtime by an additional 40 minutes.

Many students in the library checked in with the HuskyTech desk during the first outage to find out more information, but were not given a timetable by the staff at the desk.

The cause of the outages is still unknown. A university spokesperson could not provide any information before the publication deadline.

Students use HuskyCT to access class documents, discussion boards, quizzes and tests as well as submit assignments for grading. The outage occurred during peak usage hours in the early evening.
