UConn has a long time history of being known as a place for elite guards. Head coach Kevin Ollie is doing his best to keep that tradition going by adding another elite level recruit.
Makai Ashton-Langford, a four star recruit in the class of 2017, committed to UConn. ESPN currently has him ranked as the 33rd best prospect in the class.
The 6’2” guard from Worcester, Mass. visited campus over the weekend before committing on Monday. He also received offers from Louisville, Boston College, Providence, Georgia Tech and several others.
Jalen Adams, another of Ollie’s elite guards, and potentially a future teammate, tweeted out his congratulations.

Ashton-Langford is UConn’s first commitment for its 2017 class. He is moving from Cushing Academy to Brewster Academy this season, for increased competition in his senior season.
