The UConn men’s basketball team received another 2018 commit Monday as 6-foot-10 Lithuanian center Lukas Kišūnas tweeted that he had committed to the program.
Kišūnas came to Storrs for an official visit Sept. 25 and made his only other campus visit to Illinois. He had 16 other offers, with many coming from fellow schools in the Northeast.
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound big man from New Hampshire’s Brewster Academy, where Jalen Adams once played, will be the tallest player on the Huskies’ roster next season. He recently played for Lithuania’s under-18 national team.
Kišūnas joins Sid Wilson, James Akinjo and Emmitt Matthews Jr. as the fourth UConn commit over the past 32 days. The Huskies now have 14 players under scholarship for the 2018-19 season, one more than the limit, signaling that at least one player from this year’s team is expected not to return next season.
