Class of 2017 forward Isaiah Whaley committed to the UConn men's basketball program during his official visit to campus, multiple sources reported Thursday night.
The 6-foot-8, 200-pound Whaley, who played high school ball at Mount Zion Prep. in Baltimore, will join the Huskies next season as a freshman, along with fellow newcomers Eric Cobb, Antwoine Anderson, Josh Carlton and Tyler Polley.
Head coach Kevin Ollie's 2017 class now consists of Whaley, Carlton and Polley.
"Really it's just a great fit for me," Whaley told Scout.com's Evan Daniels. "Their plans fit my plans. They run a high tempo offense and that's the offense I fit in."
Whaley also had offers from American Athletic Conference rivals East Carolina and Memphis, as well as former conference foes Providence and Seton Hall.
