From the fiscal year of 2012, when many now-graduating seniors began their time at the University of Connecticut, to 2017, tuition at UConn has been on the rise.
Since 2013, tuition has increased by an average of $532 for in-state students, and $1573 for out of state students. In 2015, The Board of Trustees voted to approve a 31 percent increase to tuition, on top of annual projected increases, in order to cover a $40 million budget gap. Tuition is slated to increase by $700 for the 2017 fiscal year, according to projected increases.
