Residents of the Woodhaven Apartments, who were evacuated due to a fire last week, have returned to their building, according to Woodhaven management.

On Jan. 17, 32 units of the Woodhaven Apartments were evacuated. The evacuation displaced 64 residents, who were mostly UConn students.

Lynn Giza, the property manager, said residents were only out of the building “the first night (after the fire) because the building was unsafe.”

The one resident who has not returned to Woodhaven since the fire has made other accommodations “until her apartment is fixed,” Lynn said. Lynn added that the “Red Cross was out all night (the night of the fire) helping people and finding other options for housing.”
