Mason Feole, Baseball:
The Collegiate Baseball Preseason First Team All-American continued his resurgence from injury with a 6.2 inning performance against Memphis Friday. He held the Tigers to just one run and struck out seven in the 3-1 victory. While he did not record the win, he kept the Huskies in the game long enough to take the eventual lead.
Christian Fedko, Baseball:
The sophomore second baseman went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in Sunday’s 4-2 win over Memphis. Fedko came up in the eighth with the ballgame tied 2-2 and delivered a two-run single to take the lead. His 25 RBIs rank second on the team behind only Chris Winkel’s 30.
Emma Chee, Women’s Track:
Freshman pole vaulter Emma Chee broke her own school record this weekend in the Northeast Challenge. Her 3.83-meter vault took over her previous record of 3.82 meters, which she secured at the UCF Knights Invite in March. She took first place overall in the event, beating out UConn freshman Megan Boscoglio, who vaulted 3.38 meters.
Safir Scott, Men’s Track and Field:
The Huskies blew the competition out of the water at the annual Northeast Challenge with 164 points. Southern Connecticut took second with 90 points at the meet in Storrs. Scott, alongside his constituents, led the way with a win in the high jump. His 2.08-meter jump landed him in first and continued his current run at the top of The American.
Drake Hull, Golf:
Hull took home the first individual win for the UConn golf team of the season at the Rutherford Intercollegiate at Penn State this weekend. He finished five under par-71 with a 70-70-68 showing. This score tied his career-best and was the first win of his college career.
Sydney Watson, Women’s Lacrosse:
Watson broadened her team lead in the goals category with four in the 22-14 loss to Vanderbilt this weekend. She expanded her career high to 45 points, consisting of 34 goals scored and 11 assists. Despite the team’s struggles, Watson has consistently provided offense for the Huskies throughout the season. She ranks fourth in The American in goals scored.
