Women's Soccer: Huskies fall to Brown 2-0

The UConn women’s soccer team could not win back-to-back games for the first time this season in their midweek matchup against Ivy-League opponent Brown. On the road in Providence Thursday night, the Huskies lost to the Bears 2-0 to fall to 2-2-1 on the young season. Brown remained undefeated at 3-0 with the win.

Last season was a forgettable one for Margaret Rodriguez and the UConn women’s soccer team. They went 4-14, the worst record in program history. However, they are looking to rebound this season behind an impressive recruiting class.

“Temple’s getting some decent results and East Carolina has a result or two, but we have the ability to beat both those teams,” Rodriguez said. “Our main objective right now is we’re gonna be spoilers. We’re not in the conference tournament, but we’re not gonna finish tenth.”

The Huskies have played just one game in the month of October due to an off week and Hurricane Michael postponing a game at East Carolina. In their one game, the Huskies were dominant, defeating the previously 6-7-3 Cincinnati Bearcats 4-0.
