The Daily Campus sat down with University of Connecticut President Thomas Katsouleas yesterday to talk about his plans for UConn and his impressions so far.
My name is Carli Cutler, and I am a senior on the women’s softball team working toward my degree in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology. Playing softball at the University of Connecticut is a dream come true for me and the pride I feel wearing UConn across my chest every day is overwhelming.
The first time I walked into the Daily Campus building on a Sunday night, I was really nervous. I didn’t know where I was going, who to look for or what the vibe would be. I had emailed then-sports editor Dan Madigan ahead of time about my interest in writing for the sports section and he enthusiastically invited me to stop on by. Still, I was nervous.
Sean Kingston’s UCONNIC Music Festival performance has been cancelled after controversy surrounding a 2010 gang-rape allegation against the Jamaican-American singer/songwriter, according to Student Union Board of Governors president Adam Sherif and current outreach chair and incoming concert chair Jacob Stockman.
Joe La Puma has always been interested in sneakers, music and pop culture. Since graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2005, he has turned that interest into a full-time job as the Vice President of Content Strategy at Complex Media, where he hosts a weekly video show called “Sneaker Shopping.”
Since 1896, The Daily Campus has delivered news independently to UConn students and faculty each weekday. Its ability to produce physical and online content is rare among student-run campus news publications today, illustrating its members’ incredible dedication and newspapers’ sustained relevance in the modern era.
