This Halloweekend, the UConn women’s volleyball team returns to Gampel Pavilion to battle Wichita State Friday and Tulsa Sunday. UConn is currently halfway through its season in the American Athletic Conference. Having lost their last five matches, the Huskies have a good chance to end their losing streak Friday and a more challenging matchup Sunday.
The UConn women’s volleyball team went three-for-three at the Dog Pound Challenge in Gampel Pavilion this weekend, but it was no easy sweep for the Huskies. Coming off a string of three 0-3 matches on the road one week earlier, the team brought a fighting spirit that would not relent amidst lost sets or point deficits.
The No. 1 UConn women’s basketball team will begin a stretch of three games in five days by taking on No. 20 California on Friday night at Gampel Pavilion. The five-day period will also include a home game against No. 15 Maryland and a long road trip to play No. 8 UCLA.
“Not ideal, not exactly what we wanted,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said of the difficult stretch.
