Reviving a long-dead show (it’s been almost a decade since it last aired) to boost ratings is an ambitious task, and the new producers apparently thought it best to take a new, modern approach to it.
Some of the most memorable names to grace the “Unplugged” stage include Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Neil Young, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi and Kiss. In more recent years, that list grew to include more contemporary pop artists, such as Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne and Adele, among others.
Everyone and their mother was at the VMAs. Artists ranged from Ed Sheeran, Alessia Cara and Khalid all the way to Gucci Mane, Cardi B and Migos. Even model Hailey Baldwin, “Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot and singer Katy Perry were present and had the opportunity to introduce artists to the stage and present their awards.
