The UConn men’s and women’s cross country teams are confident in their abilities to make an impact at the American Athletic Conference Championship in Memphis. Leading the men are junior captain Eric Van Der Els and sophomore Will Brisman, expected to be the Huskies’ top two finishers at Friday’s event, looking to lead from the front of the pack.
Cincinnati 68-41 Tusculum:
Our consensus No. 1 in the conference pick, Cincinnati, pulled away with 40 points during the second half in their final tune-up of the season. The Bearcats had a strong overall performance; not a single player on the roster had a negative plus/minus, with Tre Scott leading the game at a plus/minus of 27. Guard Cane Broome led with 15 points and five boards.
Well, we’re a week into October and a good portion into the 2018 college football season, so you all know what that means. It’s time for all the American teams who were overlooked and/or disrespected prior to the season to start popping up in the Top 25 and get their due, despite it being too late in the season for people to overcome the initial anchoring effect of their omission.
