The UConn men’s hockey team is headed to New York to face off against Rochester Polytechnic Institute in a rematch from last weekend’s contest. In their first meeting the Engineers came out on top, beating the Huskies 5-3 at the XL Center. Coming off a third period where they completely controlled the game, head coach Mike Cavanaugh said it should be UConn who has momentum heading into this one.
The UConn women’s hockey team split a pair of games this weekend against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
On Friday, four different Huskies scored to take a 4-1 victory. Freshman Natalie Snodgrass is now tied with Briana Colangelo for leading the team in goals (four), assists (five) and points (nine). A dominant weekend against RPI helped to prove that the future of UConn Women’s Hockey will be led by impressive players. Sophomore Briana Colangelo and Freshman Natalie Snodgrass are leading the team offensively. This past weekend, sophomore Morgan Fisher played her second shutout of the season in goal, proving an impressive replacement once Annie Belanger graduates.
Fresh off being named the WHEA Defensive Player of The Week, Annie Belanger will lead the UConn women’s hockey team (3-3-1, 0-2-1) as they take on RPI (3-4-1) Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum.
