UConn football went down to New Orleans Saturday afternoon to play conference rival Tulane University, and it was not pretty. Tulane beat UConn 49-7 in a game where very little went the Huskies’ way.
This weekend, the UConn volleyball team continued its American Athletic Conference journey on the road versus Temple University and at home versus Tulane University. With a 3-1 win against Temple and a 0-3 loss to Tulane, the Huskies continue to balance victories and defeats on their season’s record.
“(Williams’) activity level was really, really high today,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said. “I love watching Gabby play. I enjoy watching her because of how many things she’s capable of doing. I want her to have a great last two months of the season and I’m hopeful that she can just keep adding performances like this.”
In this year’s edition of the American Athletic Conference matchup, No. 1 UConn made sure to bury Tulane before the game ever got close. The Huskies shot efficiently all night, including 92.9 percent from the field in the third quarter, and cruised to an impressive 98-45 victory Saturday afternoon in Gampel Pavilion.
