Rapid Fire: Replace the football budget

This past Saturday, UConn’s incredible football team lost 7-50 against the University of Maryland. We’re not the sports section, but even we know that’s bad. I mean, like embarrassingly bad. So, considering UConn’s budgetary crisis we think it’d be best to call it a wash and just get rid of the lot of them. So today the Opinion section answers: What would you replace UConn football’s 93.1-million-dollar budget with?

Tomas Hinckley, Opinion Editor: I think what we need more of at this university is administrator pay. $93 million can’t make a football team better, but it can make a great bureaucracy. President Radenka Maric needs more! Running a university is a tough job, so they deserve all the money they get, and more. Shout out to Susan Herbst, if you know what I mean.

Evelyn Pazan, Associate Opinion Editor: Better Wi-Fi and student applications that work when you need them to. I don’t know how much longer I can go on if I can’t access HuskyCT.

Dan Stark, Campus Correspondent: A lifetime supply of treats for Jonathan the Husky and all the wonderful dogs of UConn.
