What to do at the end of your sophomore year 

Despite what the recently turbulent weather may have you believe, the 2025-2026 academic year at the University of Connecticut is almost over. Last year, I capped off my freshman year with a retrospective on what I had learned and hoped to bring with me into fall 2025. This time around, I’ll be applying the same thought process to my sophomore year as we approach the end.

The Pull List: ‘Clayface’ looks to revolutionize the superhero movie 

Just before summer arrives, DC and Warner Bros. Pictures have finally released their first teaser trailer for the upcoming “Clayface” movie, to be released on Oct. 23 later this year. The film will be an unprecedented genre leap as the comic juggernaut jumps into a horror thriller for the very first time, but based on the teaser alone, it looks to be a strong effort. 

Annual Maker Fair shows off student skills 

The end of the spring semester at the University of Connecticut always brings with it Spring Weekend: a three-day event encompassing a variety of activities and events for UConn students to offer. One prominent mainstay of Spring Weekend is the annual Maker Fair, now in its sixth year.

Page to Stage go ‘Into the Woods’ 

University of Connecticut students gathered into the Student Union Theatre to watch Page to Stage Productions’ rendition of “Into the Woods.” The musical, created by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, was directed by Isabella Crawford, with two showings held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26.

Ringo returns with strong country album 

Always the most country out of the four Beatles, Ringo Starr returned with an astonishing 22nd studio album on Friday, April 24. Despite being more notable for features on other artists' songs than his own releases over the last four decades, “Long Long Road” is a surprisingly strong solo affair for Starr and producer T Bone Burnett.

University of Connecticut students nearly packed the entirety of the Jorgensen Center for Performing Arts on Friday, April 24 for a free comedy show performed by Trevor Wallace and Michael Blaustein.

The Office of Undergraduate Research hosted its first event of the semester on Tuesday, Jan. 20 teaching students how to navigate research opportunities on and off campus.
