The University of Connecting is replacing its student employment website, JobX, with 12twenty. Beginning May 1, students will be able to access 12twenty by logging in with their NetID and password on the UConn 12twenty website.
Students can continue to use JobX to apply for positions until Wednesday, April 30, according to Jaron Tucker, the associate director of office service and scholarships at the Office of Student Financial Aid Services. Students that submit any applications on JobX before May 1 will not need to reapply to the position on 12twenty.
“If you’ve applied to positions on JobX before May 1, employers will still review your application,” wrote Tucker in an email. “You are welcome to continue applying to open positions on JobX through April 30. Any positions still seeking candidates after that date will also be reposted on 12Twenty. If you’ve already applied for a position on JobX before May 1, you do not need to reapply to the same position on 12Twenty if you see it posted.”
Tucker also said that information from JobX will not migrate to 12twenty, so students will not be able to see their JobX application history on the new website.
The transition to the new job platform will include advanced search options, storage for application materials and customizable student profiles, meant to create more opportunities to connect with employers, according to Tucker.
Employers will be able to access JobX until June 30 to allow them time to download data from the website, Tucker said in a different email. Employers were granted access to post positions on 12twenty on Monday, April 21.
Additionally, any employers that posted on JobX before Thursday, April 17 can complete their application and hiring processes there, though they are encouraged to repost positions to 12twenty if they are seeking applicants after May 1 as well, according to the email.
Tucker also told The Daily Campus that navigation support for 12twenty will be posted on the Office of Student Financial Aid Services website to assist students the day of the launch.
