After months of cold temperatures and brutal winds, it finally feels like spring has sprung, Huskies! There’s been a heat wave here at the University of Connecticut this week, with many students opting to sit outside as they’re finishing papers and studying for upcoming final exams.

But who really wants to work when it’s this nice out? Why sit around worrying about finals when you could dance it out in the mosh pits of the Nutmeg State? For those in need of a break or who want to celebrate the heat, here’s a look at where to catch live music this weekend in Storrs and across Connecticut.
Friday 4/25: The Dog P0und “Gone Fishin’” – Storrs
After a full school year full of jam-packed lineups, The Dog P0und is putting on one last show with full bands on Friday, April 25 to cap off the great year they’ve had. The lineup features Kuyan, the Storrs-based alternative rock band formerly known as The Rotting Twentys, and Bonemeal, who was one of the first bands to play at the venue.
Rounding out the lineup is 40 Lashes, a four-piece indie punk group from Boston, and Central Massachusetts-based alternative rock band Sewing. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., music starts at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $7. No parking is available on-site. For the address, message @thedogp0und on Instagram.
Friday 4/25: Crunch House – West Haven
Just as The Dog P0und has put on a consistent schedule of shows for UConn students and showgoers from Northeast Connecticut, Crunch House in West Haven has been holding it down on the coast with show after show, including one on Friday, April 25. Highlighting the lineup is Braintree, who won WHUS Radio’s annual Battle of the Bands in January.

The rest of the lineup features Indigo Folly, Teddy Rose and Imposters. Doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $10. For the address, message @crunchhouseofficial on Instagram.
Saturday 4/26: Sounds of Storrs – Storrs
For students looking to hear some live music without even having to walk off-campus, then look forward to Sounds of Storrs on Saturday, April 26 at the Student Union Terrace. The three-band bill kicks off at 5 p.m. with Ruby Leftstep, who is fresh off their recent performance at Husky Haze Fest at The Dog P0und last weekend.
Following Ruby Leftstep is Tweed Sugar, the four-piece rock group that has continued to rise in the Connecticut music scene with their dynamic sound. Rounding out the lineup is the UConn Rock Ensemble.
Saturday 4/26: The Dog P0und “Boiler Room Part 2” – Storrs
After the last full band show of the year on Friday, The Dog P0und is hosting its last show of the semester, “Boiler Room Part 2,” on Saturday, April 26. The night is the second in the “Boiler Room” series of DJ nights at the venue. The five-DJ lineup features HELIXX, Blargg, The Quiet Kid, earthlin9 and DJ SD-129.
