There was a lot of movement due to several upsets during Week 3. Schools that dropped out of my ranking include No. 8 South Carolina, No. 12 Clemson and No. 15 Notre Dame.
Ohio State (3-0) remains No. 1, defeating Ohio, 37-9. Quarterback Julian Sayin passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith caught two of those touchdowns. They will visit Washington (2-0) on Sept. 27.
LSU (3-0, 1-0 SEC) follows at No. 2 after a 20-10 win over Florida. The Tigers’ defense looked strong yet again, picking off Florida quarterback DJ Lagway five times. LSU hosts SE Louisiana (2-1) on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. on SEC Network.
Miami (Fla.) (3-0) moved up to No. 3 with a 49-12 win over South Florida on Saturday. Quarterback Carson Beck and running back Mark Fletcher Jr. were terrific as they combined for five total touchdowns. College GameDay will visit their next game as the Canes host Florida (1-2) in a rivalry matchup on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) comes in at No. 4 this week following a 44-41 overtime win at Tennessee. The Bulldogs had to claw their way back from three deficits on Saturday. They will host No. 13 Alabama (2-1) on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
Oregon (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten) remains at No. 5 following a 34-14 win at Northwestern. The Ducks’ offense on the ground was strong, with three rushing touchdowns from three different players. They host Oregon State (0-3) at 3 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
Penn State (3-0) drops to No. 6, not because of anything they did. The teams ahead of them just did more. The Nittany Lions were dominant against Villanova, winning 52-6. Penn State will host No. 5 Oregon (3-0) on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
Texas (2-1) remains at No. 7 after a 27-10 win over UTEP on Saturday. Quarterback Arch Manning struggled in the air but found success on the ground with two first-half rushing touchdowns. Sam Houston (0-3) is next for the Longhorns on Saturday at 8 p.m. on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
Illinois (3-0) moves up to No. 8 following a 38-0 shutout win over Western Michigan. Quarterback Luke Altmyer scored three touchdowns, two in the air and one on the ground. The Fighting Illini face No. 16 Indiana (3-0) in Bloomington on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
Florida State (2-0) moves up to No. 9 despite not playing this week. They are back this week with Kent State (1-2) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ACC Network.
Texas A&M (3-0) skyrocketed to No. 10 after a 41-40 thrilling win at Notre Dame. Running back Le’Veon Moss was the star of the game for the Aggies with 81 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Texas A&M hosts No. 20 Auburn (3-0) on Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Oklahoma (3-0) holds to the No. 11 spot after a 42-3 win at Temple. They host No. 20 Auburn on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
Iowa State (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) moves up to No. 12 despite a scare from Arkansas State on Saturday, pulling away with a 24-16 win. They host Arizona (3-0) on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Alabama (2-1) improves to No. 13 after a redeeming 38-14 win over Wisconsin. The Crimson Tide visits No. 4 Georgia (3-0) on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
Ole Miss (3-0, 2-0 SEC) bumps up to No. 14 after its second SEC win, this time over Arkansas, 41-35. They host Tulane (3-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Michigan jumps to No. 15 following a blowout 63-3 win over Central Michigan. They open Big Ten play at Nebraska (3-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Indiana (3-0) improves to No. 16 after a 73-0 win over in-state foe Indiana State. They open Big Ten play at home against No. 8 Illinois (3-0) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
Georgia Tech (3-0, 1-0 ACC) enters at No. 17 following a stunning win over Clemson in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets host Temple (2-1) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on The CW Network.
Texas Tech (3-0) moves to No. 18 after a 45-14 win over Oregon State. They open Big 12 play at No. 21 Utah (3-0) on Saturday at noon on FOX.
Mississippi State (3-0) improves to No. 19 after shutting out Alcorn State 63-0. Their final tune-up before SEC play is Saturday against Northern Illinois (1-1) at 4:15 p.m. on SEC Network.
Auburn (3-0) slides up to No. 20 with a 31-15 win over South Alabama. Competition gets tougher, visiting No. 11 Oklahoma (3-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
Utah (3-0) moves up to No. 21 after a 31-6 road win at Wyoming on Saturday. They open Big 12 play at home against No. 18 Texas Tech (3-0) on Saturday at noon on FOX.
Tennessee (2-1, 0-1 SEC) drops to No. 22 after dropping the SEC-opener at home to Georgia, 44-41 in overtime. The Volunteers look to bounce back against UAB (2-1) on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. on SEC Network.
South Florida (2-1) falls to No. 23 with a blowout loss at Miami (Fla.). Despite many dropping them from their top 25 rankings, they have had a strong start to the season and deserve a spot in the top 25 rankings. They host South Carolina State (2-1) on Saturday at noon on ESPN+.
Vanderbilt (3-0, 1-0 SEC) enters at No. 24 following a stunning 31-7 win at South Carolina. Not enough people are talking about quarterback Diego Pavia. They host Georgia State (1-2) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
USC (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten) rounds out the ranking after a 33-17 win over Purdue. The Trojans have one of the most prolific offenses in the country. They continue Big Ten play against Michigan State (3-0) on Saturday at 11 p.m. on FOX.
