This weekend, the UConn men’s hockey team (2-2) will split a two-game series with the Boston University Terriers (2-2-1) in hopes of returning to the win column.
On Friday, Oct, 24, the Huskies will travel to clash with their Hockey East rivals at Agganis Arena and will return home on Saturday to the Toscano Family Ice Forum.

The Terriers are favored to win, and against BU, UConn owns an overall record of 10-17-3, a home record of 5-8-1 and an away record of 4-8-2, dating back to 2013.
The last time the two programs met was in the 2025 Hockey East Semifinals at TD Garden, where Connecticut defeated BU 5-2, which eliminated the Terriers from the playoffs.
That being said, the Terriers will try to redeem themselves in the team’s first matchup of the 2025-2026 campaign versus the Huskies.
In the 2025 semifinals, forward Joey Muldowney dominated offensively, lighting the lamp three times and earning a hat-trick. Additionally, forward Ryan Tattle and forward Tristan Fraser knocked in a pair of their own.
It should come as no surprise to see Muldowney score on Friday and Saturday, as he leads the team with three goals so far.
In the net during the semifinals, goaltender Callum Tung saved 25 of 27 shot attempts. Now, Connecticut will take the ice without the 21-year-old, as Tung signed a three-year entry-level contract with the New York Rangers after the 2024-2025 stretch.
So far in the 2025-2026 run, the keepers, Tyler Muszelik and Kam Hendrickson, have conceded a combined total of 11 netters on 129 tries. Within the first four clashes last season, the Huskies let up nine goals.
Ahead of the two-game series, both squads sit in the same boat, as they lost their respective battles the previous week.
Last Friday and Saturday, UConn broke even with the Ohio State Buckeyes, while No. 3 Michigan State handed BU two losses.
A player to watch out for on the Terriers is forward Cole Eiserman, who leads the program with five goals and 26 shots. Defender Cole Hutson creeps behind Eiserman with 20 targets on the net.
Penalties could lean in Connecticut’s favor, as BU has committed 22 fouls for a total of 52 minutes given up this season. However, the Huskies have hardly utilized their power plays, as they drained just three of 17 opportunities this year.
Fans can tune into the contests on ESPN+, with the puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 25.
