The Honor Roll: Ohio State, Indiana set to battle for No. 1 spot 

Welcome to the penultimate Honor Roll for the college football season, with the final one coming at the conclusion of the season in January. The conference championship games are set, with a lot of movement in this week’s top-25.  

Ohio State (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) remains No. 1 after finally snapping the losing streak against Michigan, defeating the Wolverines, 27-9. The Buckeyes face No. 2 Indiana in the Big Ten title game on Saturday at 8 p.m. on FOX.  

Indiana (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) stayed at No. 2 following a dominant 56-3 win at rival Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket. The Hoosiers play in the Big Ten Championship, taking on No. 1 Ohio State in Indianapolis on Saturday at 8 p.m. on FOX.  

Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) moved up to No. 3 after a 16-9 win over rival Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The Bulldogs face No. 9 Alabama in the SEC Championship on Saturday at 4 p.m. on ABC.

Texas Tech (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) slid up to No. 4 after a 49-0 win at West Virginia. The Red Raiders try their first Big 12 title ever, taking on No. 6 BYU in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday at noon on ABC.  

Oregon (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) comes in at No. 5 after a 26-14 rivalry win at Washington.  

The Ducks’ College Football Playoff matchup will be determined on Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

BYU (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) improved to No. 6 after a 41-21 win over UCF. The Cougars aim for their first Big 12 Championship, taking on No. 4 Texas Tech in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday at noon on ABC.  

Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) dropped to No. 7 after a 27-17 loss at Texas in the Lone Star Showdown. The Aggies’ College Football Playoff matchup will be determined on Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Ole Miss (11-1, 7-1 SEC) stayed at No. 8 after a 38-19 Egg Bowl win at Mississippi State. A lot to unpack with head coach Lane Kiffin departing for LSU over the weekend. The Rebels’ College Football Playoff matchup will be determined on Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Alabama (10-2, 7-1 SEC) moved up to No. 9 after a 27-20 thrilling Iron Bowl win at Auburn. The Crimson Tide look for a 31st SEC title, taking on No. 4 Georgia in Atlanta on Saturday at 4 p.m. on ABC.  

Oklahoma (10-2, 6-2 SEC) comes in at No. 10 after saving its College Football Playoff hopes with a 17-13 win over LSU. The Sooners’ College Football Playoff matchup will be determined on Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Notre Dame (10-2) remained at No. 11 following a dominant 49-20 road win over Stanford. The Fighting Irish’s College Football Playoff matchup will be determined on Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Miami (Fla.) (10-2, 6-2 ACC) moved up to No. 12 after a 38-7 road win over Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes will watch to see if they are among the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff in the selection show, which airs Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Vanderbilt (10-2, 6-2 SEC) jumped up to No. 13 after a convincing 45-24 win at Tennessee. The Commodores will watch to see if they are among the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff in the selection show, which airs Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Texas (9-3, 6-2 SEC) slid up to No. 14 after a 27-17 win over rival Texas A&M. The Longhorns will watch to see if they are among the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff in the selection show, which airs Sunday at noon on ESPN.

Utah (10-2, 7-2 Big 12) comes in at No. 15 after a 31-21 win at Kansas. The Utes will watch to see if they are among the 12 teams in the College Football Playoff in the selection show, which airs Sunday at noon on ESPN.  

Virginia (10-2, 7-1 ACC) comes in at No. 16 after a 27-7 rivalry win over Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers look for their first ACC title since 1995, taking on Duke (7-5, 6-2 ACC) in Charlotte on Saturday at 8 p.m. on ABC.  

USC (9-3, 7-2 Big Ten) comes in at No. 17 after a 29-10 win over rival UCLA. The Trojans will await their bowl game, set to be determined by Sunday.  

James Madison (11-1, 8-0 Sun Belt) moved up to No. 18 after a 59-10 win at Coastal Carolina. The Dukes take on Troy (8-4, 6-2 Sun Belt) in the Sun Belt title game on Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.  

Georgia Tech (9-3, 6-2 ACC) dropped to No. 19 after a 16-9 loss to rival Georgia. The Yellow Jackets will await their bowl game, set to be determined by Sunday.  

Michigan (9-3, 7-2 Big Ten) dropped to No. 20 after a 27-9 loss at home to rival Ohio State. The Wolverines will await their bowl game, set to be determined by Sunday.  

North Texas (11-1, 7-1 American) moved up to No. 21 after a 52-25 win over Temple. The Mean Green visit No. 22 Tulane for the conference title on Friday at 8 p.m. on ABC.  

Tulane (10-2, 7-1 American) moved up to No. 22 after a 27-0 win over Charlotte. The Green Wave host No. 21 North Texas for the American Championship on Friday at 8 p.m. on ABC.  

Navy (9-2, 7-1 American) comes in at No. 23 after a 28-17 win at Memphis. The Midshipmen will take on arch-rival Army (6-5, 4-4 American) in Baltimore on Dec. 13 on CBS.  

Arizona (9-3, 6-3 Big 12) comes in at No. 24 after a 23-7 rivalry win at Arizona State. The Wildcats will await their bowl game, set to be determined by Sunday.  

Tennessee (8-4, 4-4 SEC) stays in at No. 25 despite a 45-24 rivalry home loss to Vanderbilt. The Commodores will await their bowl game, set to be determined by Sunday.
