The top-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (29-0, 18-0) will spend their last regular season game at PeoplesBank Arena, celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day and taking on the Georgetown Hoyas (13-14, 6-12).
The Huskies are coming off an 81-38 win over the Providence Friars on Sunday afternoon. In addition to the win, the Huskies celebrated their seniors Azzi Fudd, Serah Williams, Ice Brady, Caroline Ducharme and Ayanna Patterson.

There wasn’t a dry eye in Gampel Pavilion as the program honored each player, individually, after the game.
“I just feel very loved, surrounded by love, and then also, just like, super proud of the seniors I’m standing by,” Fudd said to the media postgame. “We’ve been through so much together […] So, to see where we are now and how much we’ve grown, and whatever that looks like for each individual person, I just think it’s so special to see where everyone is now in their individual journey.”
The Huskies shift their focus to the Georgetown Hoyas, who are coming off a 66-58 loss over the Butler Bulldogs. The last time Connecticut and Georgetown played against one another was on Jan. 22 of this year. Connecticut took the win 83-42, with Sarah Strong and Fudd racking up 25 and 19 points, respectively.
Dating back to 2022, the Huskies have won the last 10 matchups against the Hoyas. In terms of Georgetown’s roster, Connecticut should keep tabs on junior guard Khia Miller, who averages 9.9 points per game.
Both Strong and Fudd have received their flowers this week with Strong earning Big East Player of the Week after averaging 17.0 points per game last week and attaining a shooting percentage of 75%.
On Wednesday, the program announced that Fudd is a finalist for the 2026 AAU Sullivan Award. Should Fudd win the award, she will join UConn great Breanna Stewart who won the award in 2015.
The Huskies enter their second-to-last game of the season as regular-season champions, after reaching that achievement versus Villanova last week.
“You want to win the regular season championship,” Head Coach Geno Auriemma said to the media Wednesday afternoon, “That’s kinda how you measure your success to beat the people in your conference. Now, the next goal for them, I’m sure, is we want to win two more games, go undefeated and look forward to the Big East tournament.”
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Hartford, Conn. Husky fans can tune in to the game on TNT or TruTV. Fans can also listen in on 97.9 FM from Learfield.
