Hello, and welcome back to the Pull List! This weekly column covers regular comic news and releases, with a primary focus on DC Comics and some news on Marvel. This time around, we’ll be looking at some news on the Supergirl movie and some developments in the world of Batman.

This week has been a busy one for fans of Scott Snyder’s “Absolute Batman” and the rest of DC’s Absolute Universe. First off, it’s been officially revealed that this world’s Batman and Superman will finally meet in November, which Snyder shared on X this past Friday.

The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel have always been an iconic duo. The pair have been the face of not only DC but all of superhero media for nearly 100 years, and to see them join together this fall in DC’s most successful modern comic book initiative will be a landmark moment. That being said, we don’t know the nature of this team-up, and it’s always possible DC will throw a curveball and make the pair rivals instead of friends.

This crossover will also arrive almost a full year after the Absolute Universe’s first crossover in December of 2025, featuring Batman and Wonder Woman in “Absolute Wonder Woman #15.” Diana, Bruce and Clark are the Big Three of DC, so it’s unsurprising that they’re the first heroes to get the crossover treatment. However, this opens the door for future team-ups in the Absolute Universe.

Next up for fans of “Absolute Batman,” Bruce’s next villain has been revealed to be Basil Karlo’s Clayface, who will debut in “Absolute Batman #23.” The issue will likely drop in August, which will prime readers and build up hype for October’s “Clayface” movie.

“Clayface” looks to be a body horror film, so Absolute Clayface might hit the same niche. Many of Batman’s rogues in this series have been set up as regular individuals before their transformation into monstruous villains. If I had to guess, I imagine “Absolute Batman #23” will kick off a new arc featuring Clayface in anticipation of the movie.

Since we’re already on the topic of movies, it looks like we’re going to be getting some new information on “Supergirl” sometime today, according to an Instagram post from James Gunn. As I’ve talked about before, the new movie is based on “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

The original book details a young girl named Ruthye searching to avenge the death of her father. She’s accompanied by Kara Zor-El as Supergirl, who’s goals align with Ruthye after her father’s killer attacks Krypto, Kara’s dog.

The Kara of the book is very different from the one featured in last year’s “Superman” movie. While she still fits that drunkard persona, she’s a lot more level-headed and serious in the book, which is the version of her we can expect to see in the “Supergirl” movie. I imagine we’ll see more of Kara’s personality in today’s trailer, and a little bit more about the plot.

Now onto this week’s comic round-up!

Tomorrow, I plan to be picking up “Batgirl #18” and “Batman #8” — I’m not quite sold on Matt Fraction’s “Batman” run quite yet, but now that the Joker’s been introduced its possible things will begin to pick up. It’s just hard to focus on the series when “Absolute Batman” has been performing so well.

However, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Tate Brombal’s “Batgirl” run so far. The series has a “Kill Bill”-esque bend to it, with plenty of influence from typical king fu movies.

And to take us out of DC for a quick moment, Marvel will be launching “Daredevil #1” this week as well. We don’t know too much about the new series, but Matt Murdock looks to be facing off against a supervillain known as Omen, which sounds like an exciting time.

DC and Marvel will re-launch old titles under new numbers all the time. If you’re not used to reading comics, “going number one” is just a method of rebooting storylines for a given character or group of characters. If you’ve ever had any interest in Daredevil, now’s the time to give Matt a try.
