The Huskies will hit the road this weekend to take on the Musketeers. The Huskies (4-8 overall, 1-3 Big East) are coming off a dominant win over Butler in hopes of ending the season strong. The Musketeers (3-11 overall, 1-3 Big East) are looking to rebound after a crushing defeat against Georgetown 1-19.
Xavier will celebrate its seniors on senior night against the Huskies as the team aims to finish the season on a high note.
As for the Huskies, this will be their last away game of the season as they conclude the year with three home matchups, including their season closer on senior day.
These two teams are battling for momentum as they approach the final stretch. With both squads sitting near the bottom of the conference, a win could turn conference play around. UConn still has two more Big East opponents after Xavier, which could improve its conference record drastically.
Postseason play is still relevant for these two teams as they attempt to gain another tally in the winning column.
The goal for the Huskies is going to be stopping Xaviers offense. The UConn defense has been a struggle for the program this season, letting in more than 15 goals a game on several occasions. The Huskies are coming off a 15-4 win over Butler when they held the Bulldogs to just five shots on goal.
They are led by standout defender Abby Beran, who broke the program’s single season record for caused turnovers in a season with 48. Their offense was also on fire, setting their season high shot-attempts with 42.

UConn’s offensive firepower comes from Rayea Davis, who has netted 23 goals so far and is looking to add more to her dominant season.
The Musketeers will look to senior Samantha Barla for goals as she leads the way with 22. She has also added seven assists for the team.
Another standout offensive weapon for the Musketeers is Megan Droney, who leads the team in assists with 17. A strong connection between these two could cause problems for the Husky defense as they aim to deliver another standout defensive performance.
In the past three meetings between the two, the Huskies have come out on top. Not only have they won, but they have done so in a dominant style. Winning by a margin of 14.6 goals in the last three seasons, the Huskies are looking for another commanding victory.
The Musketeers are hoping to send off their veterans with a win, while UConn is hoping to crash the party.
Draw time is on April 11 at noon.
The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
