USG holds student election debate 

The University of Connecticut’s Undergraduate Student Government held its annual debate between candidates for president and vice president, comptroller and chief diversity officer. Voting for USG opened yesterday on UConntact and will close tomorrow at noon. The debates were held in the Student Union Theater from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.

USG Election Results: Montanaro and Conrad win office 

The University of Connecticut’s Undergraduate Student Government Spring 2026 election results are in, with Venice Montanaro and Keira Conrad winning the election for president and vice president with 63.8% of the votes.

HuskyTHON breaks record, raises over $2.2 million  

The University of Connecticut held their 27th annual HuskyTHON dance marathon on Saturday, March 7, raising a record-breaking $2,223,439.67 for the patients and families at Connecticut Children’s.

Greenwich resident who defrauded UConn will be imprisoned next month 

Dickson Alorwornu, a resident of Greenwich and Ghanaian citizen, will start a four-year prison sentence next month after defrauding the University of Connecticut out of $46,000, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Connecticut Transportation Institute grants will use AI to improve road safety

Three grants totaling over $17 million were issued to the Connecticut Transportation Institute for updates to crash reports and monitoring road safety with AI, according to the executive director. The Connecticut Transportation Institute is a collaboration between the University of Connecticut’s College of Engineering and the Department of Transportation.

Students propose disability cultural center on campus 

Two students at the University of Connecticut are taking charge to start a disability cultural center at the Storrs campus with support from the Board of Trustees and the Undergraduate Student Government.
