Historic is the word that everyone will use to describe the UConn football team’s (9-3) season this year. After all, the Huskies’ 9-win season marks the first time in program history that Connecticut has accomplished the feat in back-to-back seasons.
After Jim Mora suddenly left the program to become the head coach at Colorado State, UConn has now hired former Toledo head coach Jason Candle to lead the program.
And just like that, it’s over. The 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament concluded on Monday with the Michigan Wolverines defeating the UConn Huskies 69-63 in the national championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis, Ind.), securing their second title in school history.
They say that basketball means a little more in Indiana. So, UConn brought a little bit of Indiana with them to the Final Four. Braylon Mullins returned to his home state with a trip to the National Championship on the line.
The UConn Softball team continued Big East Conference play this past weekend, with a three-game series against the Villanova Wildcats. The Huskies swept the series to bring their in-conference record to 9-3.
The UConn baseball team (17-16) is coming off an impressive three-game series win over Creighton. Despite falling 3-1 in Thursday’s game, the Huskies bounced back to win on Friday and Saturday, driving in 11 runs per game.
