Coming off a successful weekend at the Jesse Owens Track Classic in Columbus, Ohio, the Huskies have a three-meet weekend approaching.

From Thursday to Saturday, Connecticut will be traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete in the Penn Relays. The meet will be split between a morning session and an afternoon session. The mornings will be high school events, while the afternoon sessions will be college.

On Thursday, the field events will begin at noon, starting off with the women’s hammer throw before wrapping up with the men at 5 p.m. Immediately following the field events, the college track contests will kick off at 5:15 p.m. with the women’s 400m hurdles, before concluding at 10 p.m. with the men’s 10,000m.

Both track and field events will be held simultaneously on Friday. At noon, field events like men’s discus, women’s shot put, men’s high jump and women’s and men’s long jump will begin the college contests. On the track, the first event is the women’s distance medley relay, which takes place at 12:15 p.m. The track events take up the entire afternoon, concluding at 9:15 p.m. with the men’s 5000m.

On Saturday, the final day of the Penn Relays, the field events will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will carry over into the early parts of the afternoon session. The track contests will kick off at 12:15 p.m. and continue throughout the rest of the afternoon, finishing with the men’s 4x400m Eastern Final at 5:55 p.m.

The Huskies will also be traveling to Charlottesville, Virginia, to take part in the Virginia High Performance Meet on Sunday. The meet will begin at 3 p.m. with women’s javelin, then followed by men’s javelin. The track events will not start until 4:30 p.m. when the women compete in the 100m hurdles. The event will carry on through the afternoon and conclude after the women’s 3000m steeplechase, which is expected to start at 8:25 p.m.

The final destination for the Huskies this weekend will be in New Haven, Connecticut, to compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational. This meet will be the shortest of the weekend. The Invitational is a one day, five-and-a-half-hour meet. The field events are estimated to only last an hour, kicking off at 10 a.m. with men’s discus, and wrap up after the men’s and women’s high jump at 11 a.m. The field events follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. and concluding at 3:30 p.m.

This is the last weekend before the Big East Outdoor Championships. The Huskies are looking to build from their strong showing last weekend and carry their momentum towards yet another Big East title.
