The defending champion University of Connecticut women’s basketball team announced its 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday.

UConn will play a 29-game schedule that includes 11 games against nonconference opponents. The remaining 18 games will be against American Athletic Conference opponents.

UConn has put together another difficult schedule, which includes three games against last year’s final four teams. They will play eight total games against teams that advanced to at least the second round of last season’s NCAA Tournament.

UConn will play 13 home games this season. Six games will be held on campus at Gampel Pavilion, the other seven will be held at the XL Center in Hartford. The Huskies will not host a game in Bridgeport this season. The team will also play exhibition games at Gampel and the XL Center.

The Huskies will open the season at 5:30 p.m. on Monday Nov. 16 at Ohio State. UConn’s home opener will be on Nov. 23 against Kansas State at the XL Center.

After playing three more games the Huskies will host rival Notre Dame in the Jimmy V. Classic at Gampel Pavilion on Dec. 5.

Six days later UConn will play Florida State in the Hall of Fame Classic at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. on Dec. 11.

Following a break in the schedule for final exams, UConn will host LSU on Dec. 21 at the XL Center. The Huskies will then play Maryland in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 28.

Just two days later UConn opens conference play on the road at Cincinnati on Dec. 30. UConn will play Tulsa in their first home conference game at the XL Center on Jan. 6.

The Huskies will head on the road for a three game stretch against Houston, USF and Memphis, their longest road trip of the season.

UConn’s first home game at Gampel Pavilion comes against Temple on Jan. 16.

The Huskies final nonconference game will be at South Carolina on Feb. 8.

The Huskies final regular season game will be senior night against USF at Gampel Pavillion on Feb. 29.

The American tournament will be held in Uncasville, Connecticut, starting March 7.
