UConn junior wide receiver Dhameer Bradley is out indefinitely as he tries to heal a leg injury and focus on academics, head coach Bob Diaco said at his press conference Tuesday.

“I’d say Dhameer, right now, indefinitely. What I mean is a time to be determined by him and his ability to work on his health,” head coach Bob Diaco said on Tuesday. “He had a little lower leg nagging thing based on the circumstances, right now is focused on healing that.”

“He also has some lofty academic goals. He’s a very bright young man. He has some lofty academic goals and based on circumstances right now he is going to focus on those two things, specifically. Basically, transcript health and physical health until that changes on his family and his side of the ledger,” Diaco said.

Two sources confirmed that Bradley was not in attendance during the team’s 22-17 win over Army last Saturday.

“We’re loving him and whatever we can do to support him, he’s part of our football family, we’re going to do it,” Diaco said.

Bradley was supposed to be a key factor in UConn’s passing game this season but didn’t see any game action in the team’s wins over Villanova and Army.

Bradley has appeared in 22 games during his career, and has hauled in 28 receptions for 219 yards and a touchdown. He was second on the team among returning players in reception yards this season behind Noel Thomas.
