Head coach Geno Auriemma and the UConn women’s basketball team landed their second recruit for Class of 2017 after four-star wing player Lexi Gordon announced a verbal commitment to the Huskies via Twitter.

The Fort Worth, Texas native is the No. 34 ranked player in the ESPNW/HoopGurlz Super 60 recruiting rankings, and joins guard Andra Espinoza-Hunter (No. 42) as the other UConn commit for 2017. The Huskies join Kentucky as the only program with multiple recruits for the Class of 2017.

Gordon averaged 24.7 points and 9.4 rebounds in 31 games in her junior season at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas, and is already L.D. Bell’s all-time leading scorer with 1,985 points thanks to a well-rounded game that allows her to get to the rim and also shoot effectively from the outside.

Gordon chose UConn over Texas, Baylor and TCU, where both of her parents played basketball.
