Daniel Byrd and Irma Valverde were elected president and vice president of the Undergraduate Student Government with 38 percent of the vote in the 2016 spring elections.
The pair defeated Stephanie Sponzo and Haddiyyah Ali, who finished in second, and Eliza Conrad and Joy Sgobbo, who finished in third.
Results in the race for undergraduate student trustee are being withheld because of a dispute surrounding the campaigns’ financial filings. A winner is expected to be announced before the end of Saturday.
Students also voted overwhelmingly to approve USG’s new proposed constitution.
Turnout for the spring elections was historically low despite featuring a contested presidential race at the top of the ticket. It is the first time in at least the last seven years a contested presidential race had fewer than 3,000 total votes cast.
