Photos: Pirelli World Challenge takes over small Connecticut town

A photo essay by Daily Campus photo editor Jackson Haigis.

Each year, the Memorial Day auto races at Lime Rock Park, a natural terrain race track in Lime Rock, take over the small Connecticut town for a weekend. For car enthusiasts around the state, Lime Rock is a must-visit over the patriotic long weekend–the track is much more dynamic racing than a NASCAR circuit and tickets are quite affordable for a whole day’s worth of racing–but this Memorial Day promised more than the normal, annual excitement. This year was the Pirelli World Challenge, a race that features dozens of different cars in several classes. Follow along the 1.5 mile road course, full of twists and turns, in this photo essay.
