Burglary reported at Mansfield Apartments late Saturday night

At approximately 12:00 a.m. on Nov. 18, the University of Connecticut Police Department responded to a reported burglary at the Mansfield Apartment Complex, according to a UCPD crime alert email.

The resident heard a noise downstairs and went down to investigate it. The resident saw that her apartment door, which had been closed, was open. She also noticed that several items were missing from her apartment, according to the alert.

The email was sent out to the UConn community around 8:12 a.m. on Friday, describing the incident and requesting information from the community, as the offender(s) remain unknown at this time, according to the alert.

The burglars had fled the scene before the resident entered the room.

Director of UConn Public Safety and Chief of Police Hans Rhynhart said there is no further information to release regarding the case at the time of this publication.
