Multiple people were transported from the scene of a three-car pileup with injuries in the intersection of Storrs Road and Mansfield Road around 4:45 p.m., according to UConn firefighters on the scene.
The rear-end accident was likely caused by heavy rain, according to firefighters.
Traffic in the intersection, by the Music Building and Buckley Residence Hall, was blocked in one lane for approximately 20 minutes as the cars were towed.
All vehicles were towed from the area by 5:15 p.m.
