UConn (9-9-6) will be looking to bounce back when they take on No.10 Boston College (15-9-2) on Tuesday.
The Huskies fell to No.12 Vermont this weekend in a nine-goal thriller that saw the Huskies lose 5-4.
Earlier this season, the Huskies lost to the Eagles at home 5-2. On that day, Max Kalter and Miles Gendron scored for UConn.
The Huskies are going through a rough patch right now, having dropped three of their last four games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming off a win against conference foe UMass Amherst 6-1. It was a much-needed win for BC who was coming off back-to-back losses to Boston University.
UConn has gone 5-5-2 in Hockey East play, including defeats over ranked opponents Boston University and UMass-Lowell.
BC is led by Colin White and Austin Cangelosi. White leads the team in scoring this season with 11 goals and eight assists. Cangelosi has also put up solid numbers for the Eagles with 10 goals and nine assists.
Joe Woll has started a majority of games for BC this season but did not feature in BC’s win over UMass Amherst last week. Instead, freshman Ryan Edquist was given the nod in goal. It will be interesting to see who head coach Jerry York plays in goal moving forward.
Tage Thompson leads the Huskies in scoring this season with 16 goals to his name, despite missing a few games this season while he competed in the World Junior Hockey Championship. Max Letunov is the team’s assist leader with 16 so far this season, picking up right where he left off after his stellar freshman season.
It seems as though freshman Adam Huska has won the starting spot in net for the Huskies. Early on in the season head coach Mike Cavanaugh rotated between senior Rob Nichols and the young goalkeeper from Slovakia. Huska, like Thompson missed time while representing his country at the World Junior Hockey Championship, but once again was given the starting nod when he returned.
After Tuesday’s road game, the Huskies return home this Friday to take on Vermont.
