UConn’s football season starts tonight at 7:30, which means tailgate season is also upon us. Instead of grabbing the traditional drink of a warm beer, we here at Drink of the Week present to you an easy and cheap Dark and Stormy recipe that will make you the talk of the tailgate.  A Dark and Stormy only requires two drinks, so it is easy to make before and during your tailgate. Overall, the ingredients are around $20 and will provide more than enough drinks for you and your party.

  • Two ounces of dark rum
  • Four ounces of ginger beer
  • Lime juice (optional)

Combine the rum and ginger beer in a glass over ice or a bottle. Squeeze in the lime juice at the end if you want, but this part is completely optional. While a Dark and Stormy is traditionally made with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, any rum will work as long as it’s dark. This easy two ingredient drink is sure to take your tailgate to the next level.
