Thirsty Thursday: First Pitch

Today is opening day for Major League Baseball fans across the country, as well as what will hopefully be the first week in a long line of warm, spring weather. Our First Pitch is a take on Endless Simmer’s “The Gringo,” with a few substitutions to make it more college budget friendly. Whether you love baseball or just want to go to a darty, our First Pitch is the perfect drink for any outdoor spring time activity.

Ingredients:

  • Two ounces tequila
  • One ounce of St. Germain
  • One ounce of pineapple juice
  • One IPA of your choice

Combine the tequila, St. Germain and pineapple over ice in a shaker. Shake well, and strain into a tall glass over fresh ice. Top off with your favorite IPA. Stir gently.

The bitterness of the IPA mixes well with the sweat pineapple juice, and the elderflower flavor of the St. Germain comes through very subtly. You can barely even taste the tequila, even though there is a fair amount of it in our drink.

There is nothing better than an ice cold beer on a warm day, but if you are at a darty or a baseball game, you may want to break the monotony of cheap beer. Our First Pitch gives you the best of both worlds—a delicious beer and hard alcohol. This drink is refreshing but contains a lot of alcohol, so our beverage is great for anyone who wants to enjoy a mixed drink that is totally different from what they are used to. For baseball fans and darty goers alike, our First Pitch will take your springtime activities to the next level, just don’t forget to stay hydrated.
