An Andover man died in a head-on collision Monday afternoon on Route 32 in Mansfield, according to state police.

Around 12:07 p.m., a vehicle operated by Mark Aspinwall, 69, was travelling south on Route 32 when it crossed the double yellow lines and struck a Willimantic Waste Paper Co. truck. The truck was being operated by Kyle Shea, 31, of Coventry, according to state police.

The impact caused Aspinwall’s van to spin off and strike a pickup truck, with a teenage driver and two additional teenage passengers in it, that had been driving behind his vehicle, police said.

Aspinwall was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. There were no other injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call the Mansfield Resident Trooper’s Office at 860-429-6024 or Connecticut State Police Troop C at 860-896-3200
