Car crash outside Schenker Hall sends driver away in ambulance

A one-car crash outside Schenker Lecture Hall Tuesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., the vehicle went up off the road and over the curb, hitting two large rocks.

The driver of a gray BMW was put on a stretcher and taken away from the scene after the airbags deployed in her vehicle.

“It’s always sad to see an accident like this no matter the severity,” third-semester exploratory student Ben Wilson said. “I’m sure everyone was glad to see [the driver] didn’t appear to be injured badly. [I’m] glad she seems ok and wish her the best.”

The University of Connecticut Police Department did not respond to The Daily Campus for comment.
