The University of Connecticut Hartford campus will be holding its first-ever career fair in January, according to an email sent out by the school’s Center for Career Development. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 16th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Hartford Times Building Zachs Atrium, open to all UConn students of any major and any campus.
While UConn is on winter break until January 22nd, the Center for Career Development said in the email that students seeking full-time or part time careers or internships should visit the career fair to get a head start on planning ahead for after graduation before the second semester.
In a posting on Handshake, the event description said students will be able to meet 20 confirmed employers including companies such as Aetna, Cigna, The Hartford, the Office of the State Comptroller and Travelers.
As the companies are looking for potential interns and students seeking full-time positions, the Center for Career Development advised that students remember to look professional and bring copies of their resume to the event.
The UConn Hartford Center for Career Development provides several resources, online and in person, for undergraduate students including career counseling, resume preparation, career workshops, mock interviews, and further help in finding jobs, internships, and majors.
For questions, comments or accommodation requirements to attend the job fair, the Center for Career Development can be contacted at 860-486-3013 or career@uconn.edu.
