After a brief hiatus, the UConn women’s hockey team is ready to start the second half of their season with a game vs. the Dartmouth College Big Green.
UConn went 8-9-1 through their first 18 games, including a 2-4 skid over their last six where they were outscored 15 to 7.
Despite the recent skid, the Huskies did pick up a big upset win right before the break, defeating the No. 8 ranked Providence Friars 2-1 at Providence after falling 4-1 to them at home less than 24-hours earlier.
They will be going up against the Big Green, who are currently 3-9-1 this season and losers of four of their last five games.
Dartmouth has played many of the same opponents as UConn, such as Maine who handed them a pair of 4-1 losses and New Hampshire who they lost to 2-0. They did beat Quinnipiac, who beat UConn 2-1, by the score of 3-2 in overtime.
The Big Green are led by senior defender Tess Bracken and freshman forward Sara McClanahan who each have seven points, with Bracken recording four goals and three assists and McClanahan recording three goals and four assists.
With sixteen games remaining on the regular season, the Huskies are looking to come out of the gates strong against Dartmouth in their last non-conference game of the season.
