This week’s recipe is a classic Italian-American meal turned into a delicious bite-sized snack: chicken parmesan bites. Chicken parm is a dish that involves crispy chicken, marinara sauce and lots of cheese. It’s a simple meal, but it’s packed with flavor. You may be wondering, “How do you make chicken parm bite-sized?” It’s actually pretty simple: chicken tenders are stuffed with cheese, coated in breadcrumbs, fried and served with marinara sauce. They’re cheesy, crispy and perfect to whip up for Super Bowl Sunday or any get-together with friends and family. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also very easy to make.
Ingredients
1 pound of chicken tenders
1 ball of mozzarella cheese
2 cups of panko breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of dried basil
1 tablespoon of dried parsley
1 tablespoon of salt
½ cup of flour
2 eggs
Oil, to fry
1 cup of marinara sauce
Preparation
Cut the chicken tenders into one-and-a-half-inch pieces. Take a knife and carefully cut a hole into the chicken tenders. Be sure to not cut all the way to the other side. Stuff the holes with mozzarella cheese. Add garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley and salt to the panko bread crumbs in a large bowl. Batter the chicken in flour, egg and then the panko bread crumb mixture.
Add about one inch of oil to a pan and heat until around 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry the chicken on both sides until fully cooked and golden brown. Serve with marinara sauce and garnish with more Parmesan cheese.
