Storrs Stories: Women’s Student Government Council

While today there is a lot of buzz surrounding the USG election, female students at the University of Connecticut in 1963 also had an opportunity to vote for the President of the Women’s Students Government Council.

Candidates for the Women’s Student Government Council president required at least one year of membership in the council.

Also of note in 1963, Mrs. Homer Babbidge, wife of the then-President of the University, gave birth to a baby boy.

This was the Babbidge’s first son following two daughters.
