Golf: Huskies look to rebound at Clemson Invitational

The UConn Golf team will be back in action this weekend, competing in the Clemson Invitational at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls Golf Course in Salem, SC.

The Huskies will be competing against several nationally ranked teams including No. 4 Duke, No. 6 Georgia Tech, No. 17 Georgia and No. 13 Clemson, who will be hosting the tournament.

Nick Harrington, Drake Hull, Jimmy Hervol, Jack Boulger and Tim Umphrey will be the five golfers representing UConn at the Invitational. Harrington was the only Husky to shoot under par last weekend in the FAU Championship, finishing 4-under and tied for 10th place. Hervol will look to bounce back after finishing tied for 42nd place with a 4-over par at Osprey Point.

As a team, UConn finished tied for seventh place with a 4-under par aggregate score. They started poorly, finishing the first round a combined 15-over par, but improved significantly in the second and third rounds. If the Huskies can get off to a better start at Keowee Falls, they should be right in the thick of the chase by the third round.

The Clemson Invitational will start on Friday, April 5 and concludes on Sunday, April 7. The Huskies will tee off at 1 p.m. on Friday.
