The 16th annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be Saturday in Downtown Storrs. The festival will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature activities, games, musical entertainment and more.
The festival is in need of volunteers for the 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. slot, and it is not too late to sign up via website downtownstorrsfestival.org/volunteers or phone number (860-429-2740).
Volunteers will help set up and take down booths, help around the festival to ensure low-waste standards are being met and assist with cleanup towards the end of the night, said Kathleen Paterson, communications and special projects manager for the Mansfield Downtown Partnership.
“[The festival is] a true community event with local residents and UConn students gathering together for a day of celebration,” Paterson said.
There is no cost to attend, and the festival benefits many local businesses and organizations. This year, the festival will be featuring University of Connecticut ensemble groups Kodama Taiko and Husky Bhangra, as well as musical performances by Zikina and Parsonsfield. A full list of the events can be found on downtownstorrsfestival.org.
