University of Connecticut students can vote for their Undergraduate Student Government (USG) representatives until midnight online.
USG senators represent the various schools, colleges and residence halls on campus. Academic seat elections are held in the spring and residential seat elections are held in the fall, according to USG Elections and Outreach Commissioner Avolyn Nieves.
“There are typically open seats that are left over in each election period, so we usually try to fill them in the following election cycle,” Nieves said.
USG encourages students to vote because advocacy is their core organizational value and voting is the best path to make sure all voices are heard, Nieves said.
“Every student’s voice deserves to be heard and voting is a way for them to ensure that it is,” Nieves said.
Election results will be announced within 48 hours of polls closing unless any election violations are brought to the Judiciary, Nieves said.
