Update: All power has been restored as of 4 p.m. Friday.
About 130 residents of Mansfield Apartments are currently without power after an electrical line fell onto a metal guard rail early this morning, according to UConn spokesperson Stephanie Reitz.
Reitz said the university expects power to be returned within the next few hours.
“The wire has been removed and Eversource’s contractors are repairing a damaged insulator there now,” Reitz said.
There had also been intermittent power issues along Route 195 earlier this morning, including at Sprague and Shippee, but those have been mostly resolved, Reitz said.
The university has not needed to make any evacuations or change any class schedules and there are no reports of injuries, Reitz said.
