As midterm exams are quickly approaching, many students are experiencing stress and facing struggle within their academic life. When you are juggling a full-time course load along with all the stressors of a life at college, difficult situations are bound to happen. Luckily, there are many resources available to students on campus that can help you prepare for the challenges ahead.

As the semester continues, many students will find that they may need additional assistance regarding their academics. While lectures and office hours will help you retain the information learned in class, additional tutoring may be needed for you to learn the material in the most effective way possible. Thankfully, there are plenty of tutoring resources available on campus for you. The Q Center can provide peer-led tutoring for any quantitative courses, such as science or math courses. I used their services when I was in a math course in my third year, and I can say it was very helpful in my experience. The volunteers were very patient and took their time to help me understand the content as best as possible.

The Writing Center provides editing and revision help for any essays or work of writing you may have to do for your classes. They can provide practical advice that can help to elevate the quality of your coursework. Tutoring is also offered to students through different departments such as engineering, physics, language, as well as other subjects.

The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is another school resource that many students turn to as the semester picks up pace. The center helps students create a successful study plan for their exams and other assignments, as well as provides drop-in coaching hours to help them with a variety of topics. Academic advisors are also wonderful resources to help you along your journey at UConn. An advisor can help you navigate your different classes and issues that may come up regarding the courses you are in. They also can help you prepare for graduation and life after college. If you have a close relationship with the advisor, they may also be able to write letters of recommendation for any internships or programs you are interested in. If your grades take a dip or you need additional support, your academic advisor can point you in the direction of other resources that can better help you such as the Dean of Students
