The UConn women’s volleyball team finished their non-conference campaign last weekend with an undefeated run, putting up the best beginning to a season that the program has ever seen. With that, the Huskies will start their Big East slate of games this weekend. They will head to Milwaukee to face Marquette on Friday at 8 p.m. Next up, on Sunday, they will head down to Omaha to take on the No. 6 Creighton at 2 p.m.
On Friday, the Huskies will take on Marquette at their home court. The Golden Eagles had a less than stellar non-conference campaign, owning a 4-5 record. The program has lost its last three home games and has a 0-3 home record in the season.
Marquette will be looking to start their Big East campaign on a strong start, doing everything they can to win their first Big East matchup of the season. The Golden Eagles’ roster will include great players such as redshirt senior Aubrey Hamilton who leads the team with 100 kills and is third in blocks with 28. They will also be bringing other great defensive players, including graduate student Carsen Murray whose 29 blocks is a team best.

The Huskies have faced Marquette 13 times before and stand with a 3-10 record. UConn will come into this game looking to break their 10-game losing streak against Marquette whereas the Golden Eagles will be hoping to win their first tournament game and turn their season around.
On Sunday afternoon, UConn will take on Creighton. The Blue Jays have had a great season so far. They’ve won nine of their last 11 games, including all five of their home games. They will hope to extend their two-game winning streak as they start their conference run.
Creighton will be bringing many key players to its lineup. Senior Norah Sis has proved herself an essential part of the team, leading the team with 154 kills and 13 service aces. They will also bring senior Kiara Reinhardt, who has made herself an important part of their defense with 55 blocks this season. UConn has gone against the Blue Jays six times before, and they currently stand at a 2-4 record.
The Huskies will be looking to extend their 12-game win streak this season. They’ve already surpassed their total wins from last season and will hope to keep their undefeated season alive as they start their conference campaign.
Both games will be streamed on Flo Sports. The Marquette game will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, followed by the Creighton game on Sunday at 2 p.m.
