UConn students can now use One Card to order with Grubhub

University of Connecticut students, faculty and staff across all campuses can link their One Card with Grubhub to gain access to Grubhub+ and use Husky Bucks for Grubhub orders, according to the director of the One Card Office, Stephanie Kernozicky.

By adding their seven-digit Peoplesoft number located on the front of their One Card to the Grubhub app, students will get automatic access to Grubhub+. This lets users have $0 in delivery fees, lower service fees, 5% back on pickup orders and exclusive offers from some restaurants.

So far, Kernozicky stated that over 1,200 people at UConn have linked their One Card with Grubhub.

Kernozicky also shared that “local merchants want an online presence,” which drove UConn’s partnership with Grubhub. Kernozicky also said she wanted to give students, faculty and staff a convenient way to access a more diverse set of food options on each campus.

In addition, students can add Husky Bucks to their Grubhub account. Husky Bucks acts like a debit card linked to a UConn account.

According to Kernozicky, “The most popular usage among students has been Square Peg Pizzeria in downtown Storrs. It doesn’t accept Husky Bucks for in-person orders, but it does with the UConn and Grubhub partnership.”

The Grubhub app shared that on Feb. 9, during Super Bowl Sunday, if students order Grubhub using their UConn One Card, they’ll have the chance to win a Grubhub gift card. UConn plans to promote its partnership with Grubhub starting Monday, Feb. 2 with flyers and activities to get more people involved with the partnership.
